Q. What is the process for PMP® certification?
A. First you must be qualified to take a 4 hour 200 question exam. Upon successful completion of the 4 hour exam you will be awarded the PMP certification. To qualify to take the exam you must fall into one of 2 categories described in the PMP Handbook which is available at the link on the right.
- High school diploma, associate’s degree or global equivalent
- Minimum five years/60 months unique nonoverlapping professional project management experience during which at least 7,500 hours were spent leading and directing project tasks*
- 35 contact hours of formal education
OR
- Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent
- Minimum three years/36 months unique non-overlapping professional project management experience during which at least 4,500 hours were spent leading and directing project tasks*
- 35 contact hours of formal education

Q. How can I obtain 35 contact hours of project management education?
A. This is offered by a Registered Education Provider (REP) of the PMI and other recognized trainers. As an REP of the PMI, we offer training for the PMP and CAPM exams. Register for any of our courses by clicking "PMP Courses" in the drop-down menu above or contact us for more information. |

Q. How long will it take me to complete the course?
A. We have 3 course modes, self-study (length depends on student. 35 hours must be dedicated to this endeavor) online-live (1 to 4 weeks depending on the program) and classroom (between 3 to 5 days) depending on the program. |
Q. Is the exam difficult?
A. Some people fail the exam on their first attempt. It is not an easy exam and is not based on your everyday project management. You must study the recommended syllabus for the exam (PMBOK Guide) and understand the PMI approach to project management. |
